A Quick “About AKW”

I am currently in my last year of rabbinical school at the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in New York, and I am so excited that you’re here, visiting my website. It’s always a pleasure to sit and share stories with old and new friends.

A lifetime lover of moving from idea to implementation, I’ve spent the last two-plus decades embracing innovative and inclusive models of creating vibrant Jewish experiences for all.

When I’m not at school or working with the awesome folks at Congregation Emanu-El of Westchester, I can be found reading, writing, or running Drinking and Drashing: Torah with a Twist, the passion podcast project created by three friends with a mission to allow everyone to take ownership of Judaism on their own terms and in their own time.

Currently, I live in Brooklyn with the HUC-JIR emotional support dog, Tekiah.
